Responsibilities

  • Setup, operate and limited troubleshooting a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and components based on setup sheets, blueprints, drawings, sketches, CAD or other work instructions
  • Follow and/or suggest improvements to process documentation
  • Suggest process performance improvements and maintain product conformance by adjusting process parameters within approved scope
  • Use basic shop math to assist in job functions
  • Work with a broad range of materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, nickel alloys, copper)
  • Perform product inspection using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, surface plates, thread gages, gage pins and optical comparators and document inspection results
  • Maintain traceability of product throughout all manufacturing operations
  • Collaborate with inspection, programming, engineering and project management to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges
  • Perform basic machine maintenance based on written or verbal instructions, including completing maintenance logs
  • Maintain work area in safe and orderly fashion
  • Practice safe working habits to prevent injuries and equipment and property damage
  • Participate in process and safety improvement
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail
  • Other duties as assigned

Ideal Requirements

  • 2 years of related manufacturing experience
  • Good problem solving, organizational, communication and teamwork skills
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Track record of safety and dependability
  • Exposure to MasterCam, PowerMill or basic G-Code knowledge an asset
  • Basic use of Excel/Word/Outlook
  • Exposure to working within a quality management system (ex. ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485)
